Question 1

Is dollop! free?

Accepted Answer

Yes — the free tier is free forever. dollop Pro ($4.99/month or $39.99/year) unlocks additional power features if you want them. No trial-only gotchas, no surprise paywalls mid-recipe.

Question 2

How is dollop! different from other recipe apps?

Accepted Answer

Other recipe apps are either search engines for recipes or a place to store them. dollop! matches you with recipes you'll actually like — and every time you cook one, skip one, or rate one, the algorithm gets sharper.

Question 3

Does dollop! support gluten-free, vegan, and allergy restrictions?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We match at the ingredient level, not the label level. A recipe with cheese cannot be tagged vegan. A recipe with wheat cannot be tagged gluten-free. Iron rule.

Question 4

Can dollop! scale a recipe to what I actually have?

Accepted Answer

Yes — that's Baker's Corner. Scale to the quantity of an ingredient you have on hand, by baker's percentage (adjust your flour weight and water, salt, and yeast recalculate with it), or to the yield you want. Every other ingredient and every step rescales with it. No guessing, no ruined loaves.

Question 5

Can I import recipes from TikTok, Instagram, or blog links?

Accepted Answer

Yes — paste a link or share into the app and we'll parse it into a real recipe with ingredients, steps, and timings. Handwritten cards too, via OCR.

Question 6

What is Vibe Check?

Accepted Answer

Vibe Check matches a recipe to your mood and how much cooking you feel like doing right now — exhausted, adventurous, 15 minutes, whatever the vibe is — instead of just your general taste profile.

Question 7

What does the "More Like This" button do?

Accepted Answer

Every recipe has one. Tap it and you'll get more recipes in the same flavor lane, so finding one you love turns into a whole direction to explore, not a one-off.

Question 8

What is the Taste Report?

Accepted Answer

A set of fun facts about your own cooking — your most-cooked cuisine, the flavor profile you keep returning to, the dish you rated highest. It's built from what you actually cook and rate in the app, not a quiz.

Question 9

How does household mode work?

Accepted Answer

Add the people you cook for — or cook with. Everyone has their own taste, diet, and vetoes. The shared shopping list and 'what we're all eating' plan live in the app, so anyone can add recipes and head to the store with one merged list.

Question 10

What devices does dollop! work on?

Accepted Answer

iPhone, iPad, and Mac — free on the App Store, iOS/iPadOS 17 and up. We picked Apple and made it great. Android may come later.

Question 11

Does dollop! have testimonials?

Accepted Answer

Not yet, and we're not going to fake them. When real users are cooking real food, we'll show you.
